2026 AAAP Mentorship Program

The AAAP Membership Committee is pleased to announce the 10th annual AAAP Mentorship Program! This program is designed to support undergraduate, graduate, and veterinary students, as well as residents and early-career professionals with less than 5 years in the poultry industry.

If you are interested in participating, please send the requested details below to Dr. Julie Kelly ([email protected]) by November 20th, 2025.

The AAAP Mentorship Program connects students with poultry professionals who share similar interests and career goals. Each mentorship is uniquely shaped by the student, allowing for a flexible and personalized experience. To kick things off, the program hosts virtual meet-and-greets to introduce mentors and mentees. A special mentorship breakfast at the AAAP annual meeting offers a chance to meet in person and build deeper connections. Mentors and mentees are also encouraged to meet whenever possible at various poultry conferences throughout the year, where mentors help mentees network and make valuable introductions. Additional virtual events are in development to further support these relationships. The program’s mission is to help students explore career paths in poultry, expand their professional networks, and gain guidance on both industry-related and life questions.

If you have participated in the program in a previous year, you are welcome to join again with a different mentor or mentee.  If you would like to continue with the same mentor/mentee as last year, that is perfectly fine as long as both parties agree.
