AAAP Archives
What does the AAAP save in its archives?
The AAAP archives retain original materials relevant to the history of the AAAP and avian medicine. These materials include:
- Correspondence
- Agendas and Minutes of meetings
- Photographs (identified by place, time, and persons)
- Personal histories of importance to avian medicine
- Committee reports
- Publications of the AAAP (except Avian Diseases)
- Membership lists (annual listings or directories, not mailing lists)
- Articles about the AAAP
- Addresses, speeches, talks by officers
- Charter, by-laws, and constitution
- Legal records (not vital to the current operation of the AAAP)
- Financial records (annual reports/budgets, non-current)
Where are the AAAP archives?
They are located at Iowa State University in the Special Collections Department. Coming in 2012 through the Iowa State University Digital Collection some of the AAAP archived materials will be available online. Priority is being given to:
- History/History Committee
- Committee Reports
- Annual Meetings
- Board of Directors Minutes/Correspondence
- Annual News Letters
Can I visit the archives at Iowa State University?
The AAAP archives are open to visitors. Please contact Dr. Yuko Sato at [email protected] to assist in arranging a visit.
Submitting materials to the archives.
Provide a brief description of the submission, its importance to avian medicine and/or the AAAP, and an inventory of materials being submitted. To help you with this task, we have created a AAAP Archive Submission form.
After completion, send the submission along with a completed archive submission form to:
