Join AWN for an evening of networking with your colleagues and friends.  We are excited to host Martha Maznevski as our guest speaker and look forward to her talk followed by a panel discussion with some of your AAAP colleagues representing different segments of the industry.

Dr. Martha Maznevski is a Professor of Organizational Behavior and Faculty director for Executive Education at the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario. She is an expert in global teams, global leadership, culture and identity and empowering individual differences.  

Heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails will be served. Interested participants must register for event in advance; only a limited number of tickets will be available onsite.  All proceeds from registration will be used to establish the AAAP Women’s Network scholarship – a new AAAP Foundation scholarship sponsored by AWN.

Yoga Session

The AAAP Membership Committee is happy to announce that we will again have a Yoga session at our annual meeting in Washington, DC!  It will be held on Sunday, August 4th from 6:30-7:30 am at the Renaissance hotel.  Please bring a mat or a towel with you.  This event, led by AAAP's own Dr. Christina Leyson, got rave reviews last year, so you will not want to miss it!

 

AAAP Wellness Talk

The Membership Committee is happy to host the AAAP’s 2nd annual wellness speaker.  This year’s talk will be given by Mike Gergye.  Mike is a 20 year veteran of the telecommunications and consulting industries who has played a pivotal role in the operational evolution of multiple Fortune 500 companies. Holding an MBA in Business Strategy and Management, along with multiple professional certifications, Mike is a not-for-profit advocate who is passionate about the wellbeing of veterinarians.

Mike became involved in assisting students plan for their debt strategy while his wife was attending the University of Georgia for her DVM. Over the last five years, he has spoken with groups across the country about the issues facing students and leaders in the student debt environment.  Join us for Mike’s talk on student debt repayment strategies on Sunday, August 4th from 10:15-10:45am.
