Cancellation PolicyIf a registrant is unable to attend an event for any reason they may substitute, by arrangement with the registrar, someone else to attend in their place. In case the conference is postponed of cancelled due to COVID-19, then the whole event will be on-line.

Keynote Speakers

Dr. Clint Jones - Friday July 12th, 8:30 - 9:15 AM

Dr. Jones received his Ph.D. while investigating SV40 DNA replication in the laboratory of Dr. Robert T. Su at the University of Kansas. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the Linus Pauling Institute of Science and Medicine, Palo Alto, California, and identified regions of the HSV-2 genome that have oncogenic potential. He was an Assistant Professor at the University of Mississippi Medical Center for 3 years. He then spent 26 years at the University of Nebraska, where he was the Charles Bessey Professor and Associate Director of the Nebraska Virology Center. He is currently the Regents and Sitlington Professor of Infectious Diseases at Oklahoma State University. The primary focus of his research is to understand the latency-reactivation cycle of two neurotropic alpha-herpesvirinae subfamily members, bovine alphaherpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1) and herpes alphaherpesvirus 1 (HSV-1).

Dr. Gisela F. Erf - Saturday July 13th, 8:30 - 9:15 AM

Dr. Erf received her Ph.D. in Immunology under the guidance of Dr. James A Marsh at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts for 6 years. She then joined the faculty in the Department of Poultry Science at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, where she is Endowed Tyson Professor in Avian Immunology.  She has been with the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for nearly 30 years, teaching and conducting research on poultry immune system development and function, and on the role of the immune system in non-communicable diseases. The topic of her keynote will be on: Lessons learned from autoimmune vitiligo in the Smyth chicken: insights into multifactorial disease and avian immune responses.

Transportation

The following transportation options are accessible at the major St. Louis airports: St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL), MidAmerica St. Louis Airport (BLV), Spirit of St. Louis Airport and St. Louis Downtown Airport.

Light Rail (MetroLink)

MetroLink, the St. Louis metropolitan region's light rail system, offers multiple lines and stops through St. Louis County and City and the Metro East, stopping at or near many of St. Louis attractions.Beginning at St. Louis Lambert International Airport, MetroLink stretches 48 miles through Missouri and Illinois and includes stops at 37 stations, including one stop just a short five-minute walk away from the St. Louis Union Station Hotel. Trains usually run every seven minutes during peak hours, and every 10 minutes throughout the rest of the day, and every 15 minutes or so on weeknights. 

Advance fare is required. Purchase a ticket at the Ticket Vending Machines located at any MetroLink station or through the Transit app. A general one-way ride costs $2.50. Buses (MetroBus and Greyhound)

The MetroBus system operates over 70 routes in Missouri and Illinois with nearly 400 buses. Many MetroBus routes connect directly with MetroLink stations.
