Avian Diseases Journal Fall 2025 Update

Avian Diseases has now published two issues in 2025, and the third issue will be released shortly. In these first two issues, we published 15 Original Articles, 3 Research Notes, 4 Case Reports and 3 Review Articles. The third issue will contain 7 Original Articles, 6 Research Notes and 1 Case Report. In these three issues of 2025, 27 of the 39 articles are Open Access, which is increasing the revenue linked to the journal and will hopefully enhance the global visibility of Avian Diseases.

A key component to the success of Avian Diseases is the incredible group of Associate Editors. I would like to thank Dr. Haroldo Toro for his many years of service to the journal. He has recently decided to resign as an Associate Editor. Drs. Silke Rautenschlein and David Swayne will continue as Associate Editors. I am happy to announce the addition of three new Associate Editors to our team: Drs. Rodrigo Gallardo, Ruediger Hauck, and Catherine Logue.

The Special Issue for 2025 will focus on avian metapneumovirus. If you have a research study or a case report related to this topic, please consider submitting it for the Special Issue. You can contact me with any questions. There might still be time to get your paper submitted and included in this issue. Like the 2024 Special Issue, the entire issue will be published Open Access. Authors of all papers that are not Invited Reviews will pay the AAAP member rate for Open Access charges.

I hope everyone had a great summer. I look forward to seeing many of you at our upcoming poultry meetings.

Sincerely,

Randall Singer, DVM, MPVM, PhD
